The City of Cape Town’s locally produced destination video has premiered on Russia’s TV BRICS after taking top honours at the recent International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA) Awards.
The video promotes the city as a premier destination in Africa to visit, live, work, study, play and invest.
Cape Town scooped three prizes during the prestigious ITFFA awards ceremony, streamed online this year due to Covid-19. Two of the winning entries were produced by Sledgehammer Studios and one by SoapBox Films.
Love Cape Town – the Movie, commissioned by Cape Town Tourism and produced by Sledgehammer, won first prize in the Tourism Destination: City category, while Cape Town Tourism’s Welcome to Khayelitsha (also by Sledgehammer) and the City’s Destination Cape Town video, by SoapBox, received a joint second prize in the same category.
Visuals from the destination video, showcasing Cape Town’s heritage and spectacular beauty, premiered on TV BRICS on Sunday, 9 August, in what the channel described as a selection of “the best tourist films from South Africa”. View the promo below.
